Hi there! You know, I’ve started every “bio” of mine with the phrase, “Hi, there.” I figured if I’m going to claim consistency as a value of mine, I can’t let you (or me) down now. Plus, doesn’t reading “Hi, there!” just make you smile a bit?

My previous website profile bios have included my updated availability for working with individual, couple, and group therapy clients, including my therapeutic style and the hope I hold for my clients. While my style and hope haven’t changed, my focus has. And in order to maintain consistency in letting people know what I’m up to, here goes:

I am the Clinical Director at Individual, Marriage, & Family Counseling in Columbia, Missouri. While I still occasionally see some clients on an as-needed basis, I primarily focus on directing The Intensive, an Intensive Outpatient Program within IMF. If you are someone (or know someone) who is looking for more targeted and specific therapeutic work more than one hour per week, I’d love to talk with you or them.

Additionally, I truly enjoy placing potential clients with the best fit in a therapist, whether that be within IMF or by providing an outside resource. When I’m not talking to potential clients, you will find me clinically supervising provisionally licensed therapists in the state of Missouri and supervising and consulting with other therapists in specific modalities of therapy and other training and development programs.

In 2019, I began my training in Emotionally Focused Therapy and was certified as an Emotionally Focused Couple’s Therapist a few years ago. Since that time, I have gained certification in Emotionally Focused Family Therapy and I am a certified Supervisor in both EFCT and EFFT. I host multiple supervision and consultation groups for therapists interested in learning more about or becoming certified in EFT. Good news – all IMF therapists who work with couples and families ALSO have extensive training and certification in EFT! We’re big fans over here.

I do hold a few spots available to work with family units alongside another one of my colleagues, so please feel free to inquire if you’re interested in this type of therapy or know someone who is looking for a family therapist. And above all, if you’re not sure where to begin as it pertains to your own personal growth and development, I would love to talk with you and help sort through your next, best step.
