Working from the Integrative Developmental Model of supervision, my approach to each supervisee is designed to fit their specific developmental needs. As a therapist, my foundation is Person Centered Therapy, this approach to clinical work is evident in my supervision style as well. I genuinely believe in my supervisees’ ability to learn, grow, and face the challenges of coming into their professional identity. Early in a relationship, I find myself doing more teaching, but as my supervisee grows in confidence and skill, I challenge them to lean into their own intuition rather than answering questions as the expert. Our collaborative relationship provides a safe environment for supervisees to face barriers and challenges within themselves, and to recognize what is working well, building on these successes.   I love working with trainees who come from a theoretical perspective that is different from my own, allowing us to consider client conceptualization, intervention, and treatment planning from a variety of perspectives together. This exploration often opens doors to considering new ways of approaching our work.
