Life is full of many ups, downs, and in-betweens. It is challenging and even devastating. If you are in a difficult place in your life, counseling can be helpful. A key part of counseling is the therapeutic relationship established between client and therapist. I will give you a safe space where you can come as you are, without judgment, to feel seen and heard.

I believe in slowing down and looking at the emotions we hold. Our emotions are important in guiding us in life with our belief systems. In a society where we constantly strive to produce and accomplish as much as possible, we often do not make time for our well-being. I will encourage you to slow down and sort through your internal dialogue. What are your emotions telling you? In your journey of self-reflection, I will sit with you through this time of discovery.

I have experience working with anxiety, depression, grief, perfectionism, anger, life transitions, and self-image. I believe in tailoring a treatment plan fitting you personally and what you are going through. Healing is flexible. It looks different for everyone. I like to give homework to get clients involved in their healing process outside of the counseling office.

My life experiences have prepared and guided me in this direction. Since 2009, I have worked as a hairstylist. This allowed me to get to know my clients, unlike in other jobs. I grew to love listening to their stories, but I knew I could do more than just listen. Becoming a counselor has given me a passion and purpose in life to not only listen but to help people through trying times and messy life situations. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a Minor in Business from Columbia College. I also have a Master of Education degree in Counseling from Stephens College.
